What is Collect.com?
Produced by F+W Publications, the world's largest hobby and collectible publisher, Collect.com is an online community where collectors can discuss and display their finds, keep tabs on their collections value, connect with buyers and sellers, read about the latest hobby news, and more.

How do I make a post in the Collect.com forums?
Before posting in the forums, you must first register with the site and create an account. You may create an account at http://forum.collect.com/register.aspx.

Why should I register?
You should register to fully enjoy the Collect.com forums - post, answer, create polls, upload images, etc. To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address, and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case.

What else should I know about registering?
The new Collect.com forum works in Internet Explorer and Firefox on both Windows and Mac OS; it also works in Safari for Macintosh—however Safari's image-upload function does not work (it's a systemic problem with Safari, not the forum software). You might want to download Firefox at www.getfirefox.com and use it instead of Safari.

-Set up your profile
On the Forum main page, click the My Profile. Fill in the information as you’d like (when adding your birth date, note that the program asks for month/date/year). Set up your signature, which will appear at the bottom of your posts (the little PGD Code button above the signature text box will help you style the text). The forum is set to Central Standard Time; you can change that using Time Adjustment in your profile to add or subtract hours depending on what time zone you’re in to get time stamps to display accurately. You can set preferences for subscribing to threads and allowing Private Messages — and you can change these settings at any time from the Profile page.

-Add an avatar/profile photo
If you’re using Internet Explorer or Firefox, you can add an avator or profile photo via the image upload function on the Profile page. If you’re using Safari, use the input URL function (instead of the upload function).

-Check out forum guidelines and tips
Please review the Forum Guidelines at the top of the main Forum page. And within many of the topics, you’ll find messages at the top of the list with important info about posting in that section.

-Subscribe to threads
If you’d like to receive an e-mail alert any time a new post is made to a thread, you can subscribe to any or all of the Forum categories. Use the My Subscription link to do so. You can change your preferences in My Profile at any time.

-View & post messages
Lots of tool buttons make the Forum relatively intuitive to use. Use the New Post or New Poll buttons at the top of a Category page to start a new thread. When replying to posts, you can quote from previous messages. Animated icons in the far-left column of the Category main pages let you know which threads have new messages since you last visited (a yellow page icon), or are the most popular (an animated icon). Clicking on the small page icon in the far-right Last Post column will take you to the most recent post. Posts are added in chronological order — the original message appears first, and replies appear following that. Posts are displayed in chronological order — that’s a software spec (you can’t change the order in which posts appear).

-Add images to messages
We suggest you input a URL to pull the image off an outside server when you want to add an image to your message. To do this, simply click on the Image button in the message toolbar. This will insert "[image][/image]" into your message; simply type the URL between those two tags.

-Check your Inbox
The Forum allows you to send and receive private messages with other registered users. You’ll receive a pop-up notice when a new message arrives in your Inbox. To access your Inbox, click the Inbox link on the Forum main page. Remember to delete messages from your Inbox once you’ve dealt with them—once your inbox is full (50 messages), the system will not accept new messages (you will NOT be notified when it’s full).

The site is not working correctly for me - who should I contact?
